The Sultanate managed to crown its annual participation at the ongoing International Tourism Bourse (ITB) Berlin with three international awards. The Sultanate captured the first award of the favorite destination for German speaking tourists (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) in the Arab region.
Oman Air captured the second best air carrier for operating flights between the Arab countries and Germany. The Tourism Foreign Representative Office in Berlin captured, for the second successive year, the third best foreign tourism representation office in the German speaking tourism markets.
Maitha’a bint Saif bin Majid al-Mahrouqiyah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Chairperson of the Sultanate’s delegation taking part in the show received the No. 1 favorite destination award in the Arab region for the German speaking tourists. The award is conferred by Go Asia, Go Arabia Group, one of the specialized groups in travel and tourism statistics in Asia and the Arab region. The award is given annually on the sidelines of ITB Berlin.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Tourism affirmed that the Sultanates’ winning of this award affirm the rich tourism potentials of the Sultanate.
It is worth mentioning that the award is given according to the outcome of a survey at which more than 2600 experts, members and representative of travel and tourism companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland take part.
The Sultanate’s pavilion taking part in ITB Berlin qualified for the final round which comprised the best 15 pavilions competing for the best exhibitor award for this year. The award is granted at the last day of the expo for the pavilion that received the appreciation of the jury panel, promoted by Cologne Business Administration School.
The Sultanate’s new pavilion, which was launched last November in London, attracted attention due to its unique design that merges between modernity and authenticity.

The weekly ten direct flights from Muscat to Frankfurt and Munich captured the praise of German tourists due to the accuracy in timing and high quality services provided to passengers on all classes.
Abdul Razaq bin Juma al Raisi, Head of Corporate Affairs at Oman Air pointed out that winning this award is due to Oman Air’s knowledge of the German tourist and providing him with the required elite services that meet his needs.
He pointed out that Omani Air will soon add the German language to its website - (ONA)
