Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing plans and programs to promote products.
• Identifying the specifically Omani characteristics in any tourism product.
• Preparing studies on how to develop and present the overall distinctive ethos of tourism in Oman in association with all concerned parties.
• Conducting a feasibility study for any tourism project proposed by the private sector.
• Designing, monitoring and developing programs for government tourism projects.
• Setting standards, conditions and technical specifications for all consultancy work to be carried out for government tourism projects; analyzing the bids and taking follow up action.
• Supervising all the castle and forts which are handled by the Ministry and monitoring maintenance work and development in accordance with the needs of tourism.
