Beauty has an address ~ Oman

Welcome to Our Portal

Marhaba ~ Welcome

Welcome to the Ministry of Tourism’s web site, an import information source to assist your travel planning to and within the Sultanate of Oman.
We encourage you to travel to Oman in 2013. Whether as a return visitor, a short-break road or cruise visitor, a first time holiday-maker, or perhaps a stop-over traveler on Oman Air’s international network, you are most welcome.  Please take time to experience our hospitality and culture, and see our beautiful country.
2013 is a watershed year for Oman’s tourism sector as the Ministry and its industry partners review policies, strategies and programs to ensure that the benefits of tourism are realized. We are also looking to spread the benefits of tourism to regional communities and ensure sustainable outcomes. This will require a significant focus on improving or visitor facilities and services.
In addition, the Ministry is managing several international campaigns aimed at building awareness in the Sultanate as a world-class destination for leisure and business travel. This includes active involvement in tourism and travel shows. These are important platforms to showcase Oman and secure more business activity across our target segments. The feedback from the events attended up to the end of May have been very encouraging and we look forward to increased tourism activity.
2013 also sees new resort and hotel openings including the BestWestern Premier Hotel and Holiday Inn Hotel in Muscat, the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Duqm, and niche resorts at Khasab (Musandam) and Al Jebel Al Akhdar. The Duqm, Khasab and Al Jebel Al Akhdar resorts are by OMRAN, the Government’s tourism development and asset management company.
We are delighted to see Oman Air’s network expansion and new services to Salalah by Air Arabia, FlyDubai and Qatar Airways. These services deliver around 2,500+ seats per week to Oman’s southern capital and strengthen its positioning as a year-round leisure destination.
As well, there are many programs in place to foster domestic and international travel to and within Oman. These include the Muscat Festival and the Salalah Tourism Festival, a world-class performance program managed by the Royal Opera House Muscat, and seasonal campaigns with Oman Air and our leading hotels. We hope these attract your interest.
Our web site is an important information source for travel planning so we welcome suggestions on the site’s performance and content. If you wish to do so, please navigate your way to the contact menu.
I encourage you to include Oman in your work or leisure plans for 2013 and discover that beauty has an address.
