The Ministry of Tourism of the Sultanate of Oman is proud to announce the 4th International Conference on Responsible Tourism in Destinations; and the first to be hosted in Arabia. The Conference will take place from 10-12 October 2010 in Muscat, at the Intercontinental Hotel.

The objective of the Conference is to apply the principles of Responsible Tourism which are declared in the UNWTO’s Global Code of Ethics and the 2002 Cape Town Declaration on Responsible Tourism in Destinations. Together with the key speakers and tourism experts from all over the world a general framework for responsible tourism will be created.

Presentations and discussions in the conference will focus on the following themes:
1. Tourism, Livelihoods, Local Economic Development and Human Resources
2. Responsible Tourism in a World of Finite Resources
3. The Responsible Tourist, Tangible and Intangible Heritage
4. Responsible Destinations and Marketing

Furthermore, there will be an exhibition featuring the latest and best technologies and services for managing tourism responsibly in hotels and destinations.
